OUR SUPPLIER COMMITMENTS

" Promesse de fleurs ranks among the suppliers offering the widest botanical diversity in France. Its driving energy enables the company to preserve its collections on site in a manner that would otherwise have no viable economic model. As such, Promesse de fleurs is a key player in the preservation of botanical diversity!"

Marie-Laure Rauline, co-manager and sales manager of JAVOY nurseries.

A relationship based on trust and high quality standards

We make long-term commitments to our nursery growers, selected for the quality and originality of their plants, in order to ensure the wealth of our plant range and support the industry. This partnership guarantees a turnover for producers and reduces their losses on unsold stock.

The development of cultivation contracts set up with almost all our suppliers over the last few seasons has enabled us to secure supplies and maintain an unprecedented range in the market. These contracts cover varieties that are specific to Promesse de fleurs and original creations that are difficult to source. They are signed before the plants are planted and can be pre-financed from the moment the contract is signed.

Since 2020, we have also been experimenting with a new approach within the market: the introduction of multiple season purchasing commitments. Reservations are made for crops that have already been planted by growers and are paid for on delivery. What makes this approach both unprecedented and binding is that the contract includes a clause to compensate the grower if the reservation failed to be honoured by Promesse de Fleurs.

  • For the 2020/2021 season, binding reservations and cultivation contracts accounted for 30% of Promesse de fleurs' annual purchases, or €1.2 million..

  • By the end of 2022, they represented 50% of these purchases, i.e. over €3 million in firm annual commitments on the part of the company.

Our action levers for 2022-2026

  • We are stepping up our responsible purchasing, targetting 70% in committed reservations with our producers by 2026 at the latest.

  • We are furthermore increasing our sustainable purchasing and traceability requirements so that 100% of our plant-based suppliers will be assessed using a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) grid by 2026.
