Description

This mixture of Mediterranean wildflowers brings together annual or perennial plants from dry terrains, which tolerate drought well and are sun lovers. Their summer flowering is evocative of holidays and carefree days, allowing for the creation of unforgettable scenes. This selection is perfect for neglected gardens and natural areas. Sow in place, in well-drained soil, in the sun.

Depending on availability, this seed mixture includes: Antirrhinum, Asperula, Bupleurum, Calendula, Centaurea, Chrysanthemum, Cladanthus, Convolvulus, Delphinium, Echium, Fedia, Iberis, Lavatera, Legousia, Linaria, Linum, Lobularia, Lonas, Malva, Nigella, Papaver, Reseda, Roemeria, Silene, Viscaria. All of these plants, annuals, biennials, or perennials, show rapid growth and easily naturalise through self-seeding in the garden, in ordinary and well-drained soil.

This vibrant mixture of plants evoking Mediterranean landscapes ensures a continuous holiday atmosphere. They are species with a wild and natural charm, resistant to drought and tolerating poor, limestone, and rocky soils. They are perfect on large, difficult slopes, dry meadows, and holiday gardens where they will self-seed from one year to the next. You can also create a flowering meadow from a lawn. Clear patches of soil to sow or take advantage of bare and empty areas in your lawn. Stop mowing and feeding and the area will return to its wild state, becoming a green setting for the flowers.

Planting and care

Sowing tips:

Sow directly in place from March to May, once the soil has warmed up, in well-worked, loosened and raked soil.

Sow finely on the surface and lightly rake to cover the seeds.

Or sow at a depth of 1.5 mm (0in) in furrows 30 cm (12in) apart. Germination usually takes 14 to 21 days.

Maintenance:

Remember to water your flower meadow if the soil is dry for a long period, or if summer rain does not provide enough water for your plants. Occasionally remove faded flowers and invasive weeds.
At the end of the season, if you have sown a mix of perennials and annuals: mow them once the plants have gone to seed - to a height of 15-20 cm (6-8in) to promote spontaneous reseeding and regrowth of perennials.
