Tulipa Ben van Zanten - Triumph Tulip

Tulipa 'Ben Van Zanten' is a variety introduced in 1966, a tulip officially described as blood red, elegant and timeless, among the most planted. It produces large radiant, vibrant and uniform red flowers with excellent durability. They bloom in the middle of the tulip season, from early to mid-spring, depending on the climate. Tulipa 'Ben Van Zanten' is a Dutch creation from 1966. It belongs to the Liliaceae family. Of horticultural origin, it is currently classified in the 'Triumph' group, whose main characteristic is narrow cup-shaped flowers. The single, pure red, narrow cup-shaped flowers are perched on tall stems 45 cm (18in) above the broadly lanceolate leaves. They are slightly fragrant and have six "petals" (more precisely tepals) with the same intense and silky red on the inside. They flower in April - May, in the heart of the tulip season.
