I am writing this review after having had many occasions to contact this company. I bought a lot of bulbs in the autumn when they were on sale at 50% off. I didn't know that they were ALL bad. All the bulbs! The packages arrived damp and opened up to powder, mold, and insects. I contacted them several times, having spent around 1000 euros on all these bulbs. Their first response was "well, it's because the soil is wet," and then when I explained that I hadn't even planted them all yet, the second response was "well, you're supposed to plant them as soon as they arrive." So what's the solution? That you rip me off? There were no apologies, no offer to replace what went wrong, no offer of a refund. Nothing.

Description
The Triumph Tulip 'Carré' is a new variety that caused a sensation when it was introduced to the horticultural market in 2016. Its flower, spectacular, is unique in the shape of its corolla, short and wide, and in the colour of its petals that evoke small almost mauve scarves that light passes through. A light sprinkling of purple on the outside gives this flower a unique charm. Its long strong stems are weather resistant and allow for very pretty bouquets.
The 'Carré' Tulip belongs to the Lily family. It is named after a famous theatre (The Royal Carré Theatre) located in the city centre of Amsterdam. Of horticultural origin, obtained in the Netherlands in 2014 by Nic. van Schagen, it is currently classified in the 'Triumph' group, whose main characteristic is to usually have flowers in a narrow cup shape. Its flowers, on the contrary, are wider than they are tall and almost square in shape. Perched on 50cm (20in) tall stems well above the broadly lanceolate leaves of a slightly glaucous green, the flowers are a mauve-lilac-purple colour, of a good size, paler on the edges, and easily harmonize with a whole range of soft or vibrant colours. They show six "petals" (more precisely tepals) that are short, wide, thick, iridescent, and slightly translucent. The centre of the flower is occupied by sturdy stems, perfect in flower beds or in vases. Flowering takes place in April, in the heart of the tulip season.
The Triumph Tulip 'Carré' finds its place in large flower beds. It is a graceful and high-class tulip, which allows for superb combinations with tulips in white, pink, mauve, black or red tones or blue flowers (Forget-Me-Nots, Grape Hyacinths, Squills, Hyacinths), in beautiful pastel and romantic compositions. This also allows for maximizing the flowering duration of the flower beds. Combine it with white daffodils, hyacinths or Corsican hellebores and Euphorbias, and you will obtain surprising scenes. It can also be planted in borders, rockeries, flower beds, as well as in pots and planters. It perfectly accompanies large perennials and is ideal for creating elegant bouquets. In a vase, use very little water, just a bottom is enough! Furthermore, if your tulips open too quickly, you can add two to three ice cubes to the vase every day.

Planting and care
Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, at a depth of 15cm (6in), spacing them 10cm (4in) apart. The planting should be done in ordinary soil, slightly acidic, neutral, or slightly alkaline, loose, well-worked, and well-drained. Never add manure or poorly decomposed compost to the planting soil, as this could cause the bulbs to rot. The tulip will grow well in moist to dry soil in summer. Place it in a good location, sunny or partially shaded. Once flowering is finished, it is preferable to remove the fruits to avoid exhausting the plant.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.

- On the west coast and in the north-west (Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Donegal, Westport), delay planting by 1 to 2 weeks in spring and bring it forward by 1 to 2 weeks in autumn compared to the dates given, preferably choosing periods without strong winds.
- In the inland hills and plateaus (Wicklow Mountains, Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, Connemara, Killarney), it is best to plant in spring (April–May) or autumn (September–October), avoiding periods of waterlogged soil in winter and strong winds, which pose the main risk to newly planted trees in these areas.
The flowering period indicated on our website applies to regions in USDA Zone 9a, such as the East Coast and Midlands, including Dublin, Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and Portlaoise.
This will vary depending on where you live:
