Description

Heuchera Pinot Gris is an excellent evergreen perennial ground cover for sun or partial shade with purple-pink foliage that turns coppery orange and is speckled with silver.

In June and July, they produce delicate cream-coloured flower spikes that are extraordinary as cut flowers. This is an excellent ground cover and very decorative when planted alongside hostas, brunneras, and lungworts.

Planting and care

Prepare a planting hole measuring 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm (8 in x 8 in x 8 in). If your soil is heavy, mix some compost with the crumbled soil, partially fill the hole, and place your bucket (after removing the pot) so that the top of the plant's root ball is covered with 3 cm (1 in) of soil. Adding a base fertiliser (dried blood or crushed horn) will nourish your plant during its rooting period without risk of burning. Firm the soil and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. If the weather is dry, you will need to water regularly for a few weeks to encourage your plant's establishment. In late winter, heucheras renew their foliage. We recommend trimming back the previous year's leaves, in January or February.
