Congratulations to GLS for the super quick delivery. The young plants are in good health and promising for spring if the slugs let them shoot.

Description

This collection of 9 assorted Pacific Delphiniums will offer you sumptuous borders. 3 varieties in shades of white, sky blue, and midnight blue.

Delphinium, or Larkspur: the Pacifics are recent hybrids remarkable for the size of their inflorescences, measuring 1m (3ft) to 1.20m (4ft) long on numerous stems of 1.8 to 2m (6 to 7ft).

Main flowering in June, with a second flowering if the stems are cut back as they fade.

Note: From March to September, the stems of our delphiniums are pruned short to promote better branching of the stump and achieve optimal rooting. This pruning also prevents the stems from breaking during transportation.

Planting and care

Plant them in spring after the last frost. Plant in a sunny site in fresh, rich, and well-drained soil. Leave at least two or three shoots on young plants and five to seven on well-established delphiniums. During growth, water once or twice a week and apply liquid fertiliser every two or three weeks. Remove faded flowers by cutting the spikes at the level of the small flowering side shoots. Cut back the entire plant to ground level in autumn. Tip: Embrace height with these giant plants that structure and balance volumes in the garden. The tallest ones, when isolated, will add volume and lightness against a dark backdrop of hedges or conifers. Those of intermediate size will adorn tall flower beds, such as those with giant dahlias. Take care to maintain the vegetation with regular watering. Keep an eye out for slugs.
