Description

Beautiful perennial orchids, distinguished from orchids by their finger-shaped roots (Dactyle = finger; Rhiza = rootstock). Native to Europe, they have excellent hardiness. The lanceolate foliage disappears early in the season, sometimes as early as the end of August. They prefer a moist, rich soil with plenty of humus, even clayey soil. Some can tolerate a limestone soil. Our plants are not taken from the wild, but are divided from plants in our garden. Of course, this takes time and therefore increases their price, but they are robust and perfectly suited to the open ground. Quantities are always very limited!

Natural hybrid ( D. elata x foliosa) of large size. Pale pink flowers maculated with dark pink.
