Dwarf beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) are sown quickly because they do not require staking or trellising. Standing at about 40cm (16in) tall, they come in many colours: green, butter, or purple like 'Amethyst'. Whether they are shelling beans like the famous 'White Coco', stringless like 'Talisman', or snap beans like 'Contender', they are all easy to grow.
