I sowed my seeds in the spring and got large, healthy plants... but still no flowers... is this normal?

Description

Chia (Salvia hispanica) is an annual plant, also known as Mexican Sage, grown for its seeds, which are consumed whole in yogurts, salads, vegetables, cereals, or rice. It is renowned for its richness in fatty acids, antioxidants, fiber, minerals, and its appetite suppressant effect. Sowing from March to April for a harvest 6 months later.

Chia was already cultivated in the Valley of Mexico, 2000 years before BC. This seed was the basis of the region's diet. It is now known for its richness in protein and fiber. It contains omega-3s, calcium, phosphorus, and an antioxidant level comparable to that of pomegranate.

Chia will require normal fertilization (3kg/m²) with well-decomposed manure and compost at the end of autumn or early spring.

Harvest and conservation: Chia seeds are harvested before the first frost, and it is advisable to dry them in a dry and well-ventilated place.

The gardener's little tip: Hoe and weed. Mulch in case of drought.
