Description

The Fertilté Mix is a selection of 4 species of adventive plants that repel pests from the vegetable garden, while enriching all types of soils, even the poorest ones. It is sown on a free plot of the vegetable garden or in a raised bed, broadcast, from March to September, for mowing from April to November. Once buried, the decomposed residues will enrich your soil with nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus. Water well after summer sowing.

This mix is composed of seeds of: vetch, crimson clover, violet clover, and phacelia

  • Vetch enriches the soil with organic matter and reduces the use of chemical fertilizers
  • Excellent ground covers, crimson clover and violet clover fix nitrogen and retain soil nutrients
  • Phacelia attracts pollinators and beneficial insects to protect the vegetable garden from pests

1-Sowing: from March to June or from July to September

2-Mowing: from April to July or from August to November

3-Burying: from May to August or from October to February

Widely used in permaculture, green manures have numerous benefits: they enrich and loosen the soil while preventing the establishment of adventive plants. They also have the advantage of forming a vegetative cover that protects clayey soils from rain compaction and sandy soils from leaching. They can be sown throughout the year, and can be mowed before seed set to incorporate through shallow digging or left in place as mulch.
