Tulipa World Expression

Late single Tulip 'World Expression' is a spectacular and highly ornamental variety, widely used in green spaces for its vibrant and highly contrasting colouration and its sturdy weather-resistant stems. Its opulent flower has a large rounded cup of 15 cm (6in), adorned with cream-white petals randomly streaked with bright red-pink flames. It blooms at the end of the tulip season, in May, making it useful in the garden. Its enormous flowers are also stunning in lilac and peony bouquets.

'World Expression' Tulip belongs to the Liliaceae family. Of horticultural origin, it is currently classified in Division 5, which is characterized by late-season flowering. It will reach 60 to 65 cm (24 to 26in) high when in bloom. Perched on weather-resistant stems, well above the broadly lanceolate leaves, the flowers are large and round and of a vibrant colour, more or less pale yellow variegated with cream-white, and widely marked by cherry red-pink flames that appear to have been painted by an artist.

Late single tulips are famous for their rich colours and solid and resistant flowers, suitable for flower beds and bouquets. They are among the most planted varieties, unmatched for bringing the colours of spring to pots or sunny gardens. Remember to consider the height and flowering period when designing your flower beds, as these can vary significantly from one cultivar to another. It is a good idea to plant a few more bulbs for beautiful long-lasting cut flowers.
