With the climate change, the tulips have flowered quickly, a month ahead of schedule. They have been withered for over 15 days. On the other hand, I am quite disappointed with my other perennial orders from October. A certain number of them did not seem to recover, pests maybe? Yet, all the plants were planted quickly and soaked in rainwater before planting. We didn't have a winter, as evidenced by my geraniums left outside, which didn't freeze and are currently in full bloom!

Description

The Double 'Drumline' Tulip is a tulip that you can only love. Its big double flowers are red veined with white. They bloom in April-May.

The flowers are perched on tall sturdy stems that withstand bad weather well. This new variety measures 40cm (16in) in height at ripeness.

The double tulip fits perfectly in large flower beds, and by combining it with other tulips, you can maximize the flowering period of the flower beds. It can also be used in borders, rockeries, flower beds, as well as in pots and planters. This tulip beautifully enhances balconies and terraces. They also make lovely cut flowers. We recommend planting Heuchera, Foamflower, Brunnera, Bleeding Heart, Cypress Spurge in the foreground of your flower beds, their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and during the season, they will elegantly cover their yellowing leaves.

Planting and care

Place the double 'Drumline' tulips preferably in a sunny location from October to December for a beautiful spring flowering. You can also place them in a partially shaded area. Plant the bulbs as soon as possible in a light, fertile, and well-drained soil, and loosen it to a depth of 15cm (6in) (the bulbs should be covered with soil twice their height). Space the bulbs 10cm (4in) apart, making sure they do not touch each other, to create a mass effect. Cut the flower stems after flowering. Allow the leaves to completely dry before cutting them.
