Description

The Tulip 'Renown Unique' lives up to its name, with its unique rosy red colour.

It is a very double tulip that can reach 50 cm (20in) in height, its flowers are red turning to pink, with green edges on the outer petals. Its flower resembles a peony.

The deciduous foliage is medium green, with leaves that can reach 35 cm (14in) in length.

Although not picky about the location, this tulip prefers a well-drained soil.

It is ideal for bouquets when paired with the 'Mount Tacoma' tulip.

Planting and care

Plant your tulips as soon as possible in a well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant them at a depth of 15 cm (6in) (Bulbs should be covered with soil to a depth twice their height). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch each other. Choose a sunny exposure for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them. After flowering, their foliage is a bit unsightly, we recommend planting Heucheras, Tiarellas, Brunneras, Bleeding Hearts, and Cypress Spurge at the forefront of your flower beds. Their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and during the season they will elegantly hide their yellowed leaves.
