Chestnut Protective Tile for Clematis

Everyone agrees that, for a clematis to thrive, it needs its feet in the shade and its head in the sun.

It is advisable, when planting, to clear the base of the stems and lay them in the hole so that the root system can develop as much as possible. Another piece of advice often given to protect the base of the clematis is to place a tile to keep the base in the shade. The fact that this tile is made of chestnut wood will not heat up in the sun, which the clematis base would not appreciate.

Thanks to this naturally rot-resistant wooden tile, measuring 29 cm (11in) by 14 cm (6in) and 7mm (0in) thick, the delicate feet of the clematis will be protected from the heat of the sun. It is designed to rest on its top part on the support of the clematis (trellis or wall) and is pierced at the bottom to be anchored to the ground with a wooden or metal stake. On its flat surface, you can easily label the name of the protected plant.
