Description

The Hydrangea involucrata Yoraku Tama is a hardy hydrangea bearing sumptuous umbels of double flowers, pearly pink shaded with ivory, accompanied by elegant velvety foliage.

This Japanese variety forms a small bush as tall as it is wide, about 1.20m (3 ft 11 in) in size. As big as peony buds, the flower heads of the Yoraku Tama hydrangea bloom in late summer and bear elegant double flowers, pearly pink shaded with ivory. Its deciduous velvety foliage is a pretty tender green, measuring about 8-10cm (3.1-3.9 in) long and 6-8cm (2.4-3.1 in) wide.

The Hydrangea involucrata Yoraku Tama is a bush that likes cool environments, plant it in partial shade in a place protected from cold and dry winds, in humus-bearing, acidic and fresh soil. This bush with its late flowering is not afraid of spring frosts.

Plant it at the edge of a wood, in the back of a bed, under tall trees or near a shaded wall of the house, in a cool environment mixed with hostas, knotweeds, Aster and Thalictrums.
