Description

Hibiscus syriacus Sup’Heart® has magnificent, elegantly undulate flowers, of a beautiful pure white colour and spotted with red in their heart. They are very large (12 cm (4.7 in) in diameter!) and replace each other throughout the summer on this beautiful hardy and floriferous shrub.

This hibiscus is completely hardy and tolerates limestone soils very well. It is a very beautiful, recent creation. Hibiscus are appreciated for their abundant and summer flowering. They are often used as hedges but can also enhance a flower bed or even be planted as a young plant. It is also possible to cultivate it in a large pot to enjoy it on your terrace.

Created by Minier, 2012.

Planting and care

Plant Hibiscus syriacus Sup’Heart® in a sunny position in well-drained but fertile soil. Dig a deep planting hole and add some compost and sand to your garden soil to improve soil quality if necessary. Water generously after planting. Pruning takes place at the end of winter and should be hard to promote abundant flowering: cut back to 3 to 5 buds above the ground. Always choose to cut above an eye facing outward.
