The well-wrapped Cep with its pot, upon receipt I planted it and already the buds are forming. As for the tubercles of the vines-plants, they are still in hibernation.

Description

The Montpelier rockrose, with white flowers, is named after its Mediterranean origins: Cistus are the quintessential Mediterranean bushes that enchant walks in the late spring on the coast.

The white cup-shaped flowers with yellow stamens have petals that are sometimes yellow at their base.

The highly fragrant flowers attract butterflies. The flowers are very short-lived, barely lasting a day, but their abundance and constant renewal give them a spectacular beauty for several weeks.

The lanceolate leaves are evergreen.

Plant them in full sun in a sheltered position in the garden or in a pot on your terrace; they are sensitive to severe frost in cold regions and appreciate poor, well-drained soils.

Planting and care

Plant cistus after the last frosts in a sheltered and sunny location in neutral to limestone, well-drained soil, even stony. Cistus are very robust and appreciate poor soils. You can also grow cistus in a large pot of about 30 cm (1 ft). The cistus is moderately hardy and does not tolerate hard frosts well, especially wet frost below -5°C (23°F) to -10°C (14°F). Mulch it in winter in the coldest regions. You can cut back the stems after flowering to encourage the plant to branch out. Avoid severe pruning.
