Description
Calycanthus 'Venus' is a medium-sized bush measuring 2m (6 in 7ft) in height, with a truly remarkable flowering. At the end of spring, large white and fragrant flowers begin to bloom. When the bud is fully open, a purple heart is revealed, which adds to the unique beauty of this variety.
Still considered rare, it is perfect for adding originality to your garden. It is very adaptable to different soil types and can withstand harsh winters. Another quality is that you won't have to wait long for flowers, as it blooms from a young age.
Calycanthus are also known as "anemone trees" due to the shape and size of their flowers, which resemble these beautiful shade perennials. However, the fragrance is completely different, reminiscent of strawberries.

Planting and care
Calycanthus 'Venus' tolerates semi-shade situations well but thrives in full sun. Similarly, it grows in all types of soil, but will develop better in soil that is not too chalky. Feel free to associate it with your ericaceous bed as it doesn't mind acidic soil. It can be kept both in a pot and in the ground, however, in a pot, it will be necessary to ensure that the moisture does not stagnate. Be sure to remove the suckers if you do not want it to spread too much.
