Arrived in excellent condition, now with buds. I am delighted." Analyse du texte traduit : Le texte traduit est grammaticalement correct et ne contient aucune faute d'orthographe. La structure de la phrase est également appropriée. Cependant, il y a une petite erreur dans l'emploi du mot "excellent". En anglais britannique, on utilise généralement le mot "excellent" au lieu de "excellant". Donc, la correction serait : "Arrived in excellent condition, now with buds. I am delighted.

Description

The 'Claude Monet' Rose (Jacdesa) is a modern bush rose whose double flowers, reminiscent of the landscapes dear to the artist, display a different dress from one flower to another. Its roses seem animated by living flames, pink or, more rarely, red, swirling on a light yellow background splashed with white cream. Their fragrance is sweet but perceptible when the flowers are half-closed, revealing citrus, fruit, and vanilla notes. This slightly perpetual variety proves to be a bit delicate in cultivation and endowed with a certain disease sensitivity. A collector's rose for enlightened amateurs!

'Claude Monet' or ‘Jacdesa is a modern bush rose hybrid tea obtained in 1992 by J.E. Christensen (USA) for Jackson and Perkins. It belongs to the series of Roses of the Painters, as presented by the rose grower Delbard: "By composing these roses, nature, aided by the hybridiser, took its brush to pay tribute to the Impressionists. The colourful pigments of the petals evolve with the intensity of light; the more they are exposed to it, the brighter their colours will be". This bush with a bushy and erect habit reaches about 90 m (295ft) in height with a 70cm (28in) spread at maturity, with rapid growth. It produces strong branches, which bear elegant dark green foliage, slightly glossy. It blooms abundantly in June, then more sporadically in September if the faded flowers are removed. Its medium-sized flowers, measuring 10 cm (4in) in diameter, unfold 16 to 25 petals in a whimsical mix of pink, pale yellow, and white. They are solitary or grouped in small bouquets of 2 or 3, carried at the end of long shoots of the year or emerging on 2-year-old stems. Note that this variety seems quite sensitive to powdery mildew and rust.

With its pretty whimsical flowers, this 'Claude Monet' rose is perfect for borders and bouquets, preferably planted in groups of 3 subjects among low perennials such as violets, carnations, dwarf asters, or aubrieta, for example. Of moderate size, it is well suited for cultivation in a large pot. It blends well in low shrub borders with summer or autumn flowering or mixed with light perennials and annuals such as sea kale, panicled phlox, or tall foxgloves. It will be well highlighted in front of a boxwood or yew screen or, on the contrary, surrounded by a miniature hedge or a skillfully organised maze, as in Italian or French gardens. Its multicoloured roses blend with white, yellow, orange, or pink flowers in borders or bouquets.

Planting and care

Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with well-worked soil that is not too heavy and has enough nutrients. Avoid planting in poor and excessively dry soils. Prepare the soil by crumbling it and adding an amendment, such as blood, fish and bone, at the bottom of the planting hole. After planting, water abundantly to remove air pockets and continue to water regularly for a few weeks to help the roots establish.

Pruning modern repeat flowering roses is essential for flowering and should be done in three stages:

1. Regular maintenance pruning: During the season, regularly shorten the flowering branches and remove faded flowers along with their stem, leaving 2 or 3 leaves to encourage repeat flowering.

2. Preparatory autumn pruning: Lightly prune in preparation for the 'main' spring pruning. Note: This is not recommended in regions with cold winters as this could weaken the bush.

3. Spring pruning: In February-March, when the buds have become shoots 2 to 3 cm (1in) long, prune the young, strong branches to one-quarter of their length.

When pruning, always aim to remove dead wood, diseased branches, and weak shoots while opening up the centre of the bush. Retain the most vigorous branches, generally 3 to 6 well-positioned, to maintain an attractive habit. Always prune at a slant ½ cm or 1 cm (0in) above an outward-facing bud.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
