Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping service), the rose bush received appears to be healthy. Planted close to the 'Mademoiselle Meilland' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

The Bush 'Belles Rives' Rose pays tribute to the eponymous Chic and Art Deco Palace, famous for its illustrious guests such as writers Francis Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, who enjoyed resting in the privileged climate of the French Riviera. This variety forms arelativelyr upright bush with robust and dense foliage and bears bouquets of well-formed flowers full of deep and bright cherry pink petals, exuding a pleasant fruity fragrance. They bloom in successive waves from June until the first frost on disease-resistant foliage. Full of charm and glamour, this Belles Rives rose creates beautiful beds, alone or combined with other roses or perennial plants. They also make stunning bouquets for months on end.

The 'Belles Rives' Rose Meizolnil, registered by rose breeder Meilland in 2017, belongs to the Floribunda roses, whose flowers are grouped in corymbs or small bouquets. The plant forms a well-branched, vigorous and fast-growing upright bush. It will reach a height of approximately 90 cm (35in) with a spread of 70 cm (28in). From May-June until late in the season, on foliage consisting of large leaflets with a dark green satin finish, stunning 12 cm (5in) diameter roses bloom. They comprise 35 firm-textured petals arranged in a spiral, unfurl regularly to form a perfectly shaped rose. Their colour is a delightful magenta pink without aggression, with a lighter tone on the reverse. Their fragrance is of medium intensity in a floral-fruit register. The disease resistance of this rose is good under appropriate growing conditions. This deciduous, small, hardy bush loses its leaves in autumn.

This modern Belles Rives rose, with its fragrance, the glamorous elegance of its flowers, and its generous nature is ideal in the garden in a large rose bed, at the front of a shrub bed, or as a standalone feature in a small well-maintained garden. Its modest growth is also suitable for cultivating large pots to decorate the patio or balcony. The colour of its flowers pairs perfectly with pale pink roses (Prince Gardener), white roses (Jeanne Moreau, Bagatelle Gardens) or purple roses (Nuit de Chine, Papa Meilland). Also, consider planting it near very easy-to-grow plants such as perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), bellflowers (passiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, snapdragons, foxgloves... Its flowers can be used to create elegant and festive bouquets that delicately perfume the house.

Planting and care

To plant your rose, prepare your soil to a depth of 25 cm (10in) by loosening the earth and adding a base amendment such as blood, fish and bone at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, remove it from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. During dry weather, it is important to water regularly for a few weeks to promote root growth. Also, remember to provide your rose with special rose fertiliser to encourage flowering. Choose a sunny location.

Roses often have stains or may look unsightly towards the end of summer. However, this is not a problem for their development. These stains are natural and do not harm the rose.
