Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose received appears healthy to me. Planted along the pathway, near the 'Perfume Kisses' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to establish... (or not?).

Description

The Street Colours Rose 'Meilowmye' or 'Rêve de Paris' is an excellent creation from the 'Street Colours' series. Its cute little roses with sweet, spicy, and peppery scents evolve from vibrant yellow to pearly pink in a beautiful two-tone effect. This landscape rose, suitable for small city gardens and container plantings, forms a small cushion-shaped bush covered in flowers from May to June until the frosts. With exceptional disease and pollution resistance, its matte dark green foliage remains beautiful throughout the season. Versatile and low-maintenance, it is also an ideal rose for beginner gardeners.

The 'Meilowmye' or 'Rêve de Paris' Rose is a Meilland landscape rose part of a new range, 'Street Colours', designed to adapt to small urban spaces, with remarkable floribundity, disease-free plants, and minimal maintenance. It eventually forms a bush with a dense cushion habit, 30 to 50 cm (12 to 20in) tall and 50 to 70 cm (20 to 28in) wide. From spring to autumn, bouquets of 6 to 15 flowers per stem, with about 30 petals, approximately 6 cm (2in) wide, bloom on a rather matte dark green foliage. Bicoloured, they emerge in bright yellow, quickly evolving towards more ochre and pink tones. At full bloom, they reveal a heart of golden yellow stamens visited by pollinators. They emit a light, spicy, and peppery fragrance.

This 'Meilowmye' or 'Rêve de Paris' rose is perfect in all gardens, regardless of size, and on balconies and patios. It adapts to all soils that are not too dry and to all climates. With great ease of cultivation, all that is left is to admire it and find companions in borders or flower beds. Play with its shimmering colours to pair it with yellow, copper, and pink flowers, or choose blue or mauve tones for a beautiful contrast. In this case, consider perennial geraniums and sages. Plants with purple or bronze foliage, such as heucheras, create a beautiful backdrop for the colour of the 'Meilowmye' flowers. A large pot quickly becomes highly ornamental before joining bouquets in a vase.

Planting and care

This 'Rêve de Paris' rose is a low-maintenance plant regarding soil and exposure. To plant your rose in a pot, work the soil to a depth of 25 cm (10in), crumble the soil well, and place a base amendment such as blood, fish and bone at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant free from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. During dry weather, it's necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth.

Similarly, remember to water regularly in hot and dry weather during the first two years. Once established, your rose will not require watering in the summer. Also, remember to apply special rose fertilisers to stimulate plant flowering.
