Its double-edged ground blade is made of Xylan-coated steel for even easier penetration of hard and dry wood. A sliding lever system allows the blade to open optimally without requiring any additional effort, multiplying the cutting force by up to +50% and ensuring the best user comfort. It also features an adjustable cam that is useful for bringing the blade closer to the anvil as they separate under the cutting action, ensuring a clean cut with each pruning and extending the anvil's lifespan by 4 times. Its long 85cm (34in) handles made of solid, lightweight aluminium allow the user to easily reach high branches and stems. The compound anvil lopper combines the same type of head as anvil secateurs but on a larger scale, with longer handles that reach higher and less accessible branches. This "anvil" ensures better grip on the branch to be cut and distributes the pressure applied. This tool is thus suitable for pruning dead or mature branches and stems that are very dry and hard. Avoid softer and greener wood as this tool would crush their tissues.
