Description

The Phlox subulata 'Candy Stripes', commonly known as Moss Phlox, is an excellent ground cover with a spreading habit, very floriferous and fast-growing. Ideal for rockeries, wall borders or in a container on a sunny terrace.

This hardy perennial forms a compact, evergreen carpet. The 'Candy Stripes' Moss Phlox has 2cm (1in) long, opposite, linear leaves, medium green on trailing stems, which root easily. In April, beautiful star-shaped flowers measuring 2cm (1in) in diameter, pure white with candy pink stripes, completely cover the foliage, creating a dense carpet of flowers.

Originating from the United States, the 'Candy Stripes' Moss Phlox thrives in well-drained, light soil, even in dry, sunny conditions. It is a robust plant that forms a lovely cascade of flowers along a wall and brightens up rockeries. Pair it with aubrietas, saxifrages, or botanical tulips.
