Hello, I had ordered this lupin as well as Masterpiece in 2020, they flowered once in 2021, and this spring they simply disappeared! I find it quite disappointing considering I took all the precautions to plant them!

Description

Lupinus 'Gallery White' is an alpine species with a bushy habit. From June to July, terminal spikes measuring 20 to 60cm (8 to 24in) long appear, composed of pea-like flowers. The flowers are uniformly white and measure 1 to 3cm (1in) long. It is an evergreen plant that spreads without becoming invasive.

At maturity, the plant can reach 70cm (28in) in height. It is very vigorous and resistant to diseases. It is native to the Mediterranean, North Africa, and all of America. This lupin has beautiful silvery foliage that brightens shaded areas. This foliage is deciduous and mainly composed of palmate basal leaves, divided into lanceolate leaflets, which are often slightly hairy on the underside.

Lupinus 'Gallery White' is a good ground cover. It grows in dry meadows, hills, open forests, coastal strips, cliffs, and riverbanks. It is an excellent plant for perennial borders and flower beds. It also thrives when planted individually.

Planting and care

Lupinus 'Gallery White' thrives in the sun, partial shade, and even under trees in spring. Plant it in light, well-draining, humus-bearing and moderately moist soil. It is an easy-to-grow perennial. Removing faded flowers will help it bloom again in autumn. Water generously. Pay attention to the leaves, which can sometimes be attacked by mildew and root rot (especially if the roots are dry). Lupins can be susceptible to leaf spots, galls, viruses, and attacks by snails and slugs.
