The young plant arrived in good condition... now we just have to wait for the shoot to grow and see the result.

Description

The Daylily 'Patricia Jojo' is a perennial plant with large, bright yellow and fragrant double flowers. Its large flowers emerge and renew from June to August, lasting only one day, hence its name "daylily". The flowers measure 15 cm (6in) in diameter.

The foliage of the daylily is semi-evergreen. Originating from Asia, this plant has excellent hardiness. It can reach a height of 65 cm (26in) at maturity.

Thanks to the brightness of its colour, this variety of 'Patricia Jojo' can brighten even semi-shaded areas in summer and autumn. It is a beloved plant of hummingbirds and butterflies. Its flowers are used in bouquet arrangements. You can mix different varieties of daylilies to achieve continuous flowering from late May to September.

Planting and care

If you want to grow daylilies, there are some things to keep in mind. These plants like sunny spots and need fertile, moist soil that is well-drained. Water them well once or twice a week until you see flower buds, and feed them with liquid fertilizer every two to three weeks. During flowering, you can water them less often. Keep in mind that daylilies can get rust and collar rot if it is very humid and over 30°C (86°F). In places where it freezes and thaws frequently, the stems and leaves can get bacterial rot. Watch out for slugs and snails, as they can harm young shoots.
