A purchased batch; 3 stunted plants with hardly any visible growth; if the roots are in good condition, they might recover, but very disappointed.

Description

Aubrieta Cascade Blue is a beautiful groundcover with abundant lilac-blue flowers with a white centre, that is very valuable in dry gardens.

This perennial forms a dense spreading cushion with velvety rosette leaves that are greyish in colour.  This plant has spreading branches on the ground. In April, Aubrieta is covered with flowers 1 to 2 cm (1in) in diameter, with 4 cross-shaped petals, lilac-blue with a white centre.

Aubrieta Cascade Blue needs well-drained, poor, moist, rocky (even chalky) soil and a sunny position. Avoid winter waterlogging by planting them on a mound. Propagate in spring by division or cutting  branches that have not flowered.  This is an easy task and is very successful.

Aubrieta Cascade Blue is highly appreciated in rock gardens, as a border plant with spring bulbs. On a wall, it will form a beautiful blue cascade or plant at the base of a standard rose, for guaranteed effect!

Tip: In June, prune severely if you want to maintain a compact habit.
