Another flower for my blue flowerbed... The young plant corresponds to the one shown and is growing well. I'm looking forward to its flowers eagerly...

Description

Originally from American prairies, Amsonia tabernaemontana var. salicifolia is a perennial plant with a robust crown but slow growth.

Over time, it forms hemispherical bushy clumps. At the end of spring, its arched stems bear clusters of bell-shaped, electric blue flowers that fade to pastel as they wither.

Its decorative leaves are elongated and resemble those of a willow. Easy to grow, Blue Amsonia requires a very bright exposure to flower well and needs well-draining but moist soil in the summer. Combine it with perennials that prefer moist and light soil, such as astrantias, camassias, or campanulas.
