Magnificent flower bed! The colours and heights are very well matched. The few young plants that didn't start again in spring were refunded. The genus Allium is impressive: flowers with a diameter of over 20 cm (8in)! My only regret: the eremurus didn't flower. I recommend this flower bed and look forward to Promesse de Fleurs offering us other compositions of this kind.

Description

How to plant a Mixed border?

The principle is simple:
On a sufficiently large quadrilateral-shaped space, plant perennial plants, flowering bulbs, annuals, and bushes in a coordinated manner to create a coherent "miniature garden". Here are some guidelines to help you: base your composition on a high border (hedge, wall, etc.) as much as possible.

Arrange the plants in a gradual progression towards the back and sides to create a circus-like effect (smaller plants in front, larger plants in the background), avoiding too much linearity (create waves). Start with larger pieces: a few bushes, mainly roses. Continue with a majority of perennial plants.
Plant them in irregular small masses, and if you have a large area, repeat the same plants randomly. Resist the temptation to plant too densely at the beginning. The plants need to find their place. Fill in any gaps with flowering bulbs and annual plants.
.

 The collection consists of:

- x3 'Sutton's Apricot' Foxgloves

- x1 'Delta Blues' Bearded Iris

- x2 'Patty's Plum' Oriental Poppies

- x1 Himalayan Foxtail Lily

- x10 'Star of Persia' Alliums

- x2 'Johnson's Blue' Geraniums

- x2 Lamb's Ears
