Beautiful young plants received quickly and immediately planted on my slope in the shade. The growth is slow but the plants cover well, I will put other varieties that grow faster.

Description

Carex plantaginea is a lovely evergreen species with wide bright green foliage forming a rounded clump. The very fine stems bear a small black spike at their tip. It is an excellent companion for ferns such as Polystichum, Asplenium, and Athyrium, to create a beautiful ground cover scene in the undergrowth, illuminated by a few daffodils or bluebells.

We have planted it on the slopes bordering a small path lined with trees, alongside Geranium nodosum, Geranium macrorrhizum 'Spessart', Epimedium rubrum, and Heuchera. Among the 1000 species of sedges growing around the world, you are sure to find one that suits you.
