Description

Philodendron 'Imperial Green' is a houseplant with dense, glossy foliage, perfect for adding a tropical touch to your home. With its large, broad leaves in a deep green hue, this variety fits seamlessly into contemporary, minimalist, or exotic decors. To keep the plant healthy, place it in a bright room without direct sunlight and ensure good ambient humidity.

Philodendron 'Imperial Green' belongs to the Araceae family. It is a horticultural cultivar selected for its lush foliage and easy care. Though its exact origin is uncertain, it likely has P. erubescens among its ancestors. This variety has become a staple among houseplants, particularly for decorating living rooms, offices, or reading nooks. Its leaves are broad, ovate to lanceolate, with a glossy green colour and a smooth, slightly waxy texture. Each leaf can grow up to 40 cm long. The plant can reach a mature height of 70 cm to 1 m and a spread of 60 to 90 cm, forming a medium-sized specimen well-suited to most modern interiors. Philodendron 'Imperial Green' is a tropical perennial with moderate to fast growth in warm, humid conditions. It rarely flowers indoors; its typical Araceae inflorescences—white or pale green spathes—are not particularly ornamental. The plant is toxic to pets and humans if ingested due to its calcium oxalate content.
The name "Philodendron" comes from the Greek "philo" (love) and "dendron" (tree), referencing its natural climbing habit in the tropical forest.

Philodendron 'Imperial Green' thrives in a bright living room, an elegant office, or even a contemporary conservatory. Pair it with a Monstera deliciosa for a bold tropical duo or a Zamioculcas zamiifolia for a more structured, graphic look. This philodendron works equally well in sophisticated decor or a relaxed, cosy setting.
