The hoe is one of the essential tools when gardening, and one of the first to acquire due to its versatility. It is a double-headed and dual-purpose tool. The flat and diamond-shaped side of the head, called the blade, allows for hoeing the soil, which means weeding by scraping the surface of the soil, hoeing, which means piling up the soil on the base of the plants, or digging the soil. Meanwhile, the pointed side, the tongue, in the shape of a swan's neck, digs or loosens the surface soil by dislodging the roots of weeds.
