I absolutely love this plant, but unfortunately, I haven't seen any concrete results yet. I planted it in February 2023, and normally, I should have had flowers by now. However, it has only grown a tiny bit, and I still haven't seen any flowers. I'm disappointed that you sent me just a stem with two small branches (it was really a baby plant) for the price I had to pay. I think it's very expensive for what I received and that I have to wait at least two years to see the flowers!

Description

Lonicera Mandarin is a climbing honeysuckle, very hardy, easy to grow, with a beautiful delicately scented orange and yellow flowering.

Lonicera Mandarin has long deciduous leaves, which are 4 to 8cm (2 to 3in) long, opposite, ovate, lanceolate, brown then bluish green. From May to July, numerous tubular flowers, 3cm (1in) long, which are orange and yellow, diffuse a powerful and pleasant fragrance. They have two large coloured lips and leave the stamens exposed. In autumn, red berries appear but are toxic.

This honeysuckle can tolerate any rich, moist, well-drained soil in sunny or semi-shaded conditions. Although not necessary, a light pruning at the end of winter is possible to balance its shape.

With its height of 3m (10ft), Lonicera Mandarin is ideal as a wall cover to dress up fences, trellises, pylons, pergolas or trees. In a container on a patio, you will enjoy its fragrance even more!
