Description

This discovery collection is composed of 5 scented Geraniums:

Pelargonium 'Mosquitaway Megan' has a Citronella scent, 'Orange Fizz' with orange and tangerine, the Mosquitaway Lizzy with Citronella, the Mosquitaway Eva with Citronella, and the Mosquitaway Nova with Citronella.

These geraniums bear small assorted flowers in shades of pink and white, probably less spectacular than those of classic perennial or annual hybrids, but more authentic.

The leaves, of medium green colour, veined and with a compound shape, are highly fragrant. With a simple touch, they release a delicate scent of pine mixed with old spices. Keep themin a pot on the terrace or veranda, or plant in the ground somewhere you can reach out and touch them as you pass. They perfume the air and repel mosquitoes.

One of our favourite scents, we love to stand among them after recent rain and enjoy the symphony of delicate scents.

The young plants measuring 4 to 8cm (2 to 3in) come in packs of 5 small plugs, 3.6cm (1in) in diameter and 4cm (2in) in height. Our plants are at least eight weeks old and strong enough to be planted in the ground.

Note: Attention, our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them in sheltered areas (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks, before being planted outdoors once the all risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

Plant your geraniums in the ground after the last frost, in a sunny site. You can also plant them in pots placed in a sheltered spot, to bring out in May. Fragrant geraniums require well-drained but not necessarily very rich soil. Water moderately. In pots, regular watering is necessary in summer. You can preserve your geraniums by bringing them indoors under a veranda or a cold greenhouse in winter. They can tolerate a light frost, but they will not survive the winter in the garden.
