Out of the two, one didn't survive. However, the one in the planter is magnificent. I will order more of it next year. Plus, it gives off an intoxicating scent.

Description

The Pelargonium x fragrans is a fragrant pelargonium, with the smell of pine and old spices, usually grown as an annual.

This pelargonium bears small white flowers veined with purple, perhaps less spectacular than those of classic perennial or annual hybrids, but more authentic.

The leaves, of a medium green colour, veined and finely cut, are highly fragrant. With a simple touch, they release a delicate scent of pine mixed with old spices. So plant them, in a pot or in the ground, in a place where you can touch them, along a border or in a pot on the terrace or veranda. They perfume the air and repel mosquitoes.

One day after the rain, we were captivated by a bed of fragrant pelargoniums and immersed ourselves in a symphony of delicate scents.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them under cover (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before being planted outdoors once the risk of frost has definitively passed.

Planting and care

Plant your geraniums in open ground after the last frosts, in a sunny position. You can also plant them in pots placed in a sheltered location, from which you will take them out in May. If you want to install them in open ground, wait until the frosts have passed. Fragrant geraniums require well-drained soil, but not necessarily very rich. Water moderately. In pots, regular watering is necessary in summer. You can protect your geraniums by bringing them indoors under a veranda or a cold greenhouse in winter. They can tolerate a light frost, but they will not survive the winter in the garden.
