Directions for use Pruning shears are extremely useful for cutting high branches and stems safely from the ground. They ensure a clean cut on stems and twigs measuring up to 4cm (2in) in diameter. Equipped with cross-cutting blades, the head consists of two movable curved blades that slide against each other when the handles of the tool are tightened. It works like a pair of scissors. Unlike anvil pruners, bypass pruners provide a clean and neat cut without crushing the cut stems. It is therefore the most suitable pruner for cutting green wood on living subjects as it avoids the formation of wounds that are open invitations to the proliferation of diseases. It can be mounted on a fixed or telescopic pole and is operated using a cord. Cut the stems and branches at an angle to prevent water from stagnating on the wound or on a lower bud. Clean the blades with alcohol after use to disinfect them and prevent the spread of diseases. This action also helps to keep them in good condition (the sap from certain plants can damage the blades of the pruning shears or make them sticky).
