Description

This Long-Flowering Meadow Flower Mix brings together field flowers with annual blooms that span four months, from early June to late September. In just a few months, it creates a changing tableau animated by the flight of pollinating insects, where refined colours follow one another and harmonise. Sown in spring in well-prepared soil, the 'Long-Flowering' Mix forms a delightful and low-maintenance bed that will delight the gardener while preserving biodiversity.

This selection consists of 23 species of summer-flowering annual flowers. From the beginning of June, the show begins with purple and black centaureas, followed by shades of pink, white, and mauve from salvias and viscarias, with cosmos closing the season. All these flowers are very robust and they naturalise themselves more or less through spontaneous sowing in ordinary soil. The plants vary in height from 30 to 80 cm (11.8 to 31.5 in).

Partial composition: Salvia horminum, Cosmos bipinnatus, Centaurea cyanus, Viscaria oculata.

This meadow flower mix is very trendy. It is very easy to grow, flowering throughout the whole season while requiring very little maintenance. Ideal for adding a touch of poetry to a slightly wild and sunny area, whether in a bed or a meadow, this Long-Flowering Mix is sown in spring, in well-prepared soil. The flowers it contains are often nectar-rich, providing a significant food source for pollinating insects. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mixes along a path, in a slightly neglected area of the garden, on a slope bordering a sunken path, or at the back of the garden bordering the countryside.

Planting and care

Sowing:

Sow directly in place, from March to early June, once the soil has warmed up, in a well-dug and worked soil that has been cleared of weeds and raked. Sow finely on the surface of the soil and then lightly rake to cover the seeds. Alternatively, sow at a depth of 1.5 mm (0.1 in) in furrows spaced 30 cm (11.8 in) apart. Germination normally takes 14 to 21 days.

Cultivation:

When the young plants appear, water well and remove weeds. Then water once or twice a week for 6 weeks, keeping the soil slightly moist. In autumn, at the end of flowering and after collecting seeds, they can be sown in place after cleaning the area. Water well to make the seeds adhere to the soil.
