Description

Perennial plants, highly valued in gardens, columbines require a light, humus-rich soil that is consistently moist, where they colonize the area with their spontaneous self seeding. They can tolerate heavy soils, but do not live for very long in them.

Lovely glaucous foliage, curious pendulous greenish flowers with brown-purple corollas, slightly scented. Highly resistant to cold. These plants prefer the moist and well-drained soil of a shaded rockery.
