Dimensions:  Blade: 23 cm x 12 cm - Weight: 1.5 kg - Handle length: 135 cm

The digging hoe is a basic tool, designed for weeding without the use of chemicals and for working the soil surface. Its heavy and wide head is specially adapted for breaking up the surface and deeply opening even compact and heavy soils. Closer to a pickaxe than a hoe, it allows you to crumble and lighten the top layer of soil after digging, uproot unwanted plants, earth up vegetables by gathering soil around their base, or even dig shallow planting holes and furrows. Like other hoes, it will loosen and break up the top layer of soil, leaving the soil well-aerated around the cultivated plants in the vegetable garden or ornamental garden. It also helps prevent the formation of a compacted layer that occurs under the action of watering or rain in clayey or loamy soils. This hard and compact layer, which is very difficult to rehydrate and suffocating for plants, also promotes the rise of water to the surface and its evaporation. Working the soil on the surface after watering limits water evaporation. This model is equipped with a hand-forged steel head in the shape of a dovetail for better wear resistance. Its large dimensions make it a perfect tool for quickly working the soil on the surface and breaking up clods. 135 cm long and lightweight, the handle, whose section is almost doubled at the socket, ensures powerful strikes and a comfortable grip and will protect your back.

Directions for use This digging hoe is an essential tool, closer to a pickaxe than to the hoe. It is designed to weed the vegetable or ornamental garden without resorting to the use of chemical products and to work the soil on the surface. After digging, the gardener uses the hoe to loosen, aerate and refine the superficial layer of soil and dig shallow planting holes or furrows. The hoe easily removes unwanted plants but is also used for earthing up vegetables. To maintain the beautiful appearance of your tool, we recommend cleaning it with a stiff brush after each use and storing it away from moisture. Once a year, you can sand the handle with fine sandpaper and oil it with a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine for easier application. Dilute half and half and for faster drying of the handle, use boiled linseed oil.
