Description

Muscari comosum 'Plumosum' or Feathered Grape Hyacinth, is a cute little easy-to-grow bulbous plant, appreciated by gardeners for its double flowers in lilac plumes, adorned with purple filaments.

Also known as Grape Hyacinth, this Muscari produces ovoid, white bulbs. The linear leaves, form an erect tuft. In May, double flowers in lilac plumes with purple filaments are gathered in tight clusters at the end of a rigid stem 10 cm (4in) tall.

Originally from Turkey and the Caucasus, Muscari comosum 'Plumosum' likes well-drained, loose, moist and not too rich soil, in full sun. Divide the clumps every 5 years in June, when the leaves turn yellow.

Muscari comosum 'Plumosum' is ideal in pots or rock gardens. Paired with pansies or primroses, it will be perfect for edging pathways or flower beds.
