Description

The lightness made flower! Linaria are biennial or perennial plants that bring a lot of natural beauty to the garden: through their appearance and their ability to self-seed. Beautiful robust and highly branched plant forming beautiful clumps with lanceolate foliage of a lovely bluish green. The slender stems bear in their upper part long slender spikes of pale yellow flowers with orange throats. A beautiful plant which, unlike others, has a strong presence and forms true bushes that will elegantly accompany light grasses such as Stipa gigantea, Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus', etc.

Planting and care

They live relatively short lives, but even varieties that are not faithful to sowing can be easily propagated by cuttings, so it is possible, with a little effort, to keep these plants in the garden for a very long time. Generally, they prefer a light, porous and well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. However, we have observed, especially with Linaria purpurea, that they are able to self-sow in various parts of our garden, both in the scree garden, the gaps in the paving, and in the moist soil along the stream.
