Plastic Bulb Basket

This green plastic bulb basket with perforations is a perfectly sturdy garden accessory that will protect your bulbs from mice, moles, and voles, both in the ground and during storage. This 21cm (8in) diameter model is wide enough to accommodate multiple bulbs at once. You can remove the basket from the ground at the end of the season to store your bulbs in a cool location protected from frost, light, and humidity.

The perforated texture of this basket allows water and roots produced by the bulbs to pass through when buried: the flowers develop as if they were in the ground, but the bulbs are protected from the teeth of small rodents. The bulbs enter dormancy a few weeks after flowering and their foliage naturally turns yellow: this is the signal that they can be dug up and stored until the next planting season. The basket can easily be dug up by using a garden fork, for example. The basket will let you remove your bulbs from the soil without damaging them.
