The Spear & Jackson 5-tine Eco Biofork loosens and aerates the soil without turning it over, to preserve the different layers that compose it and avoid disturbing the life of the soil. This garden tool allows you to work standing up and save your back, and its 5 tines penetrate the soil easily. Both economical and ecological, it is essential for gardeners who want to engage in organic and sustainable gardening!
The fork was originally a complementary tool to the spade, designed to loosen, aerate and crumble the soil deeply, in small areas. It is much better suited than the spade for working with clayey or heavy and compact soils. The Spear & Jackson Eco Biofork is a kind of fork with two handles and a very wide head, equipped with 5 thin and pointed steel tines, more suitable for not too compact soils. It works faster than the spade and aerates the soil through the penetration of the tines. Unlike the spade, this garden tool does not disturb the soil's microbial life and does not cut the earthworms, which are essential for soil health and fertility. It can be used to prepare the soil before sowing or planting. Its long handles, made of sustainably managed beech wood, allow you to keep your back straight while working. They are sturdy and durable.
Its use requires a little training:
- Lean on the central bar.
- Push the 5 tines into the soil by pulling it towards you.
- Make small alternating lifting movements on each side to aerate the soil.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
