Both efficient, ergonomic, and eco-friendly, it is essential for gardeners who want to embrace an organic and sustainable gardening approach!

The Maxi Biofork 5 teeth with non-slip zone by Spear & Jackson, more suitable than the classic biofork for working on compact and heavy soils, allows for loosening and aerating the soil without disrupting its structure or the life that enriches it. This garden tool allows for standing work to spare the back, and easily penetrates the soil thanks to the presence of a wider central support zone for the foot. Both ergonomic, efficient, and eco-friendly, the maxi biofork is essential for gardeners who want to engage in organic and sustainable gardening!

The traditional fork is originally a complementary tool to the spade, designed to aerate, loosen, and crumble the soil deeply, on small surfaces. It is much better suited than the spade for working on clayey or heavy and compact soils. The Spear & Jackson maxi biofork is a kind of fork with two handles and a wide head, equipped with 5 thin and pointed steel teeth, and a non-slip central footrest. It works faster than the spade and allows for superficially aerating the soil simply by penetrating the teeth. Unlike the spade, this garden tool does not disrupt the soil's microbial life and does not cut through earthworms, which are essential for soil health and fertility. It is used to prepare the soil before sowing or planting. Its 1.10 m long handles, made of sustainably sourced beech wood, allow for keeping the back straight during soil work. They are sturdy and durable.

Using it requires a little practice:

  • Rest on the non-slip central zone of the head.
  • Drive the 5 teeth into the soil by pulling it towards you.
  • Make small alternating lifting movements on each side to aerate the soil.
