Split bamboo, traditionally used for making fly fishing rods, is a material that is both lightweight, slightly flexible, and very strong. It is composed of six triangular sections cut from bamboo. After being glued, these fibers acquire new mechanical qualities. It is a material with a fairly good lifespan (at least 4-5 years) compared to that of traditional bamboo rods, Provence rods, or other untreated wood.
