Order finalized after being advised over the phone (as it was a bit late). Very disappointed with the quality of the bulbs received: only ~1/3 of the bulbs have sprouted...

Description

Walberton Yellow has floral stems that bend under numerous yellow flowers. The flowers form horizontal spikes. The foliage is slender like that of gladioli. Crocosmias or montbretias are very hardy bulbs which thrive in open ground, in a sunny exposure and well-drained soil. They multiply and become more beautiful each year.

They lend themselves well to natural gardens mixed with perennials or grasses.

Excellent plants for your floral compositions.

Planting and care

Plant crocosmias in full sun. They require a well-aerated and well-drained soil. Work the soil well at the time of planting and incorporate sand if necessary. They should be covered with 5 to 8 cm (2 to 3in) of soil and spaced about fifteen cm apart. They like rich soils. Apply fertiliser at the time of planting and every spring. While they prefer well-drained soil in winter, crocosmias need plenty of water during their growing season.
