Description

The Alternative Eco Lawn is a rather revolutionary mixture that combines next-generation grasses with creeping micro-clover endowed with multiple qualities. Both economical and environmentally friendly, this lawn forms a beautiful blanket that will remain green all year round while requiring less fertiliser, less watering, and less weedkiller. The seeds are preferably sown in March-April  by broadcasting, in the sun, in well-prepared and loosened soil. 1 kg can cover up to 50 m².

Composition:

  • 15% English ryegrass 4N FABIAN: very good resistance to trampling, drought, and cold, while having a more intense green colour.

  • 55% Creeping red fescue MAXIMA

  • 25% Chewings fescue BELLEAIRE

  • 5% Micro-clover PIPOLINA: a small non-fodder clover, specifically selected for lawn use. It has all the advantages of clover, with very small leaves. Micro-clovers produce their own natural fertiliser, which nourishes the grass and keeps the lawn green and strong. Their deep roots reduce the need for water: the lawn remains green even in summer. The dense vegetation cover provided also prevents the establishment of unwanted plants.

  • Non-fodder use

Product characteristics and benefits:

  • NO FERTILISER: the clover fixes nitrogen from the air and returns it to the soil, and therefore to the grass. No need for nitrogen fertilisation.

  • NO WEEDKILLER: the presence of micro-clover eliminates the need for weedkiller.

  • WATER SAVING: micro-clover is more drought-resistant than grass and remains green in summer.

  • REGULAR SHORT MOWING: the shorter the mowing (15 to 25 mm (1in)) and the more regular, the smaller and tighter the micro-clover leaves are.

Usage and dosage:

  • 1 kg: covers up to 50 m2

  • Sowing rate: roughly 20 g/m2

Planting and care

Sowing:

Sow directly in place in the sun, in March-April, in well-worked soil free of weeds, refined and raked. Sow by broadcasting on the surface of the soil and lightly rake to cover the seeds. If available, you can use a roller to ensure good adhesion of the seeds to the soil. Water regularly with a fine mist to keep the soil slightly moist until germination if it does not rain.

Dosage:

  • 1 box of 1 kg for 50 m², approximately 20 g/m²
