These Spear & Jackson ergonomic anvil secateurs are a professional quality cutting tool. They are sturdy, easy to handle, and lightweight. They are equipped with contoured handles that offer great comfort during use, and carbon steel SK5 blades treated with anti-corrosion, preserving sharpness. They will cleanly and effortlessly cut dead wood or mature branches, up to 1.5cm in diameter and are ideal for long pruning work that involves repetitive movements. This product is guaranteed for 10 years by the manufacturer.
Secateurs are an essential tool that every gardener must have, whether they need to maintain a small balcony, a terrace, a small city garden, a large countryside garden, or an orchard. Anvil secateurs differ from classic secateurs in that their sharp blade, sharpened on both sides, is thicker and crushes against the completely flattened metal part opposite it. This prevents the branches from twisting during cutting. Ergonomic secateurs were developed in partnership with the MSA (social insurance for agricultural professions) to limit, or even prevent musculoskeletal disorders (wrist and elbow tendinitis, ligament tears, carpal tunnel syndrome) in intensive secateurs users. This cutting tool has angled handles: the cutting blade and the counter-blade are more inclined downwards than on a classic secateur. The inclination of the head compensates for the vertical position of the wrist.
