Description

Among the ferns of temperate zones around the world, the male fern is certainly the most widespread and, it must be said, one of the easiest to grow. They come in a wide variety of forms, sometimes deciduous, sometimes evergreen, but always interesting.

Grande and beautiful fern resembling more a Polystichum than a Dryopteris. The deciduous fronds, which can exceed 1 metre (3 feet) in length, are narrow and bear triangular pinnules with roughly toothed edges. The habit is initially erect and then gradually softens to take on a lovely arched shape.
